Where your data lives on iPhone
Relined stores your entries, photos, and moods on your device and, if you are signed into iCloud, in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit. Forward Alpha LLC has no server and cannot read your entries.
Where your data lives on Android
Your lines, moods, and notes are kept in a database inside Relined's private storage on your phone, with the photos you attach and a small settings file (the reminder time, the day your free trial started, and whether you've unlocked Relined). No other app can read it, and none of it is sent to us.
Android backup
If backup is on for your phone, Android copies Relined's database and settings file (your lines, moods, notes, and settings) to your Google account, and restores them when you set up Relined on a new or reset phone. Relined allows this only when Android can encrypt the backup end to end with your screen lock (PIN, pattern, or password), so neither we nor Google can read it. Without a screen lock, Relined is left out of the cloud backup. Photos are never in the cloud backup; they move only when you copy your old phone directly to a new one. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings, under Google, Backup.
No analytics, no tracking
Relined has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. On iPhone it makes no network requests other than iCloud sync and App Store purchases, both handled by Apple. On Android it uses two libraries from Google: Google Play Billing, for the purchase, and Google Play In-App Review, which may ask once whether you'd like to rate the app. The billing library sends Google its own diagnostic information about how purchases and its connection to Google Play are working, encrypted in transit. That goes to Google, not to us, and contains nothing you have written.
Permissions
On iPhone, photo library access is requested only when you tap the photo well, and is used to show your own photos from earlier years. On Android, you choose photos with Android's photo picker, so Relined never asks for access to your photo library and only sees the photos you pick. On both, notification permission is requested only when you set a reminder, and the reminder is scheduled on your phone.
Purchases
The one-time purchase is processed by Apple on iPhone and by Google Play on Android. We receive no payment details. On Android, Relined asks Google Play only whether the unlock is owned on your Google account, and keeps that answer on your phone.
Export and deletion
Export and delete are always available in the app. Deleting the app removes local data. On iPhone, iCloud data can be removed from Settings, Apple ID, iCloud, Manage Storage. On Android, you can also clear Relined's data without uninstalling in Settings, Apps, Relined, Storage, Clear storage, and remove the backup copy from your Google account's backups. Files you exported and cards you shared stay where you saved or sent them. We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing to ask us to delete.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
